Delicious Homemade Chocolate Crepes: A Perfect Brunch or Dessert Treat!
Indulge in the delightful experience of homemade chocolate crepes—an effortless yet impressive recipe ideal for brunches or desserts! These versatile crepes pair beautifully with fresh strawberries, bananas, or any seasonal fruit, complemented by a dollop of homemade whipped cream. Plus, they can be prepared in advance and reheated whenever you’re ready to enjoy them!
Hello everyone! I’m Ashley from The Recipe Rebel, and I’m excited to share this simple yet luxurious recipe that will elevate your Spring brunches and Mother’s Day celebrations.
Crepes are one of my favorite dishes because they can seamlessly transition from breakfast to dessert based on your choice of fillings. For a healthier option, consider stuffing them with an abundance of fresh fruit and Greek yogurt or spreading peanut butter topped with sliced bananas. This way, you’ll not only enjoy some protein but also benefit from the fiber and nutrients found in fresh fruits.
If you’re feeling indulgent, why not try filling them with cherry pie filling paired with sweetened cream cheese for a delightful black forest twist? Alternatively, spread Nutella inside and top it off with fresh strawberries and whipped cream for an irresistible treat. These customizable delights can easily be made ahead of time!
The batter for these chocolate crepes is effortlessly blended right in your blender before being poured onto a hot pan—minimal mess involved! Even kids can join in on the fun while preparing these treats together.
Should you have any leftover crepes (which is rare!), they reheat wonderfully the next day—and they’re just as tasty cold! You could even use them creatively to make a layered crepe cake or simply roll them up for lunch filled with peanut butter and banana—a favorite among my kids!
To achieve perfectly cooked crepes every time, ensure your pan is adequately heated before pouring just enough batter to cover the bottom completely before it sets. Tilt the pan quickly but carefully to distribute the batter evenly; don’t worry if your first few attempts aren’t picture-perfect—they’ll still taste amazing!
How To Make Chocolate Crepes:
- Add all ingredients (except toppings) into a blender following the order listed.
- Blend until smooth.
- Heat a crepe pan or large round skillet over medium-high heat; lightly grease it.
- Pour approximately 1/3-1/2 cup of batter into the center; tilt quickly but carefully so that it coats evenly.
- Cook for about 1 minute until dry on one side; flip over and cook another 30-60 seconds until done (cooking times may vary based on heat).
- Repeat until all batter is used up; serve warm topped with fruit and whipped cream as desired.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days—they reheat beautifully!
